8-DAY MOROCCO IMPERIAL CITIES TOUR
This tour will take you on a captivating journey from Marrakech to Casablanca, passing through the historical cities of Fez, Meknes, and Rabat. Begin in Marrakech, exploring vibrant souks, iconic landmarks like the Koutoubia Mosque, and architectural gems such as Bahia Palace and Jardin Majorelle. Continue to Fez, where you’ll walk through its ancient medina, visiting the Bab Boujloud Gate, historic medersas, tanneries, and the renowned Karawiyine Mosque. On day 5, stop at the royal city of Meknes, its impressive Bab Mansour gate, and the nearby Roman ruins of Volubilis, before heading to Rabat. Explore the Kasbah of the Udayas, Hassan Tower, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. The final leg takes you to Casablanca, where you’ll marvel at the Hassan II Mosque, stroll along the coastline, and visit the Habous Quarter. Day 1: ARRAIVAL TO MARRAKECH
Start your journey by visiting the heart of Marrakech, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Wander through its narrow alleys, bustling souks (markets), and vibrant squares like Djemaa el-Fna, a lively place full of performers, food stalls, and traditional music. Nearby, visit the iconic Koutoubia mosque with its towering minaret, which is a key landmark of the city.
Day 2: MARRAKECH GUIDED TOUR
With your local guide, explore the grand 19th-century Bahia palace, famous for its intricate Islamic architecture, beautiful gardens, and detailed rooms.
Enjoy a peaceful retreat into the Jardin Majorelle with stunning gardens, a vibrant blue villa, and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum nearby.
At the Saadian Tombs, marvel at the beautifully decorated tombs of the Saadian dynasty.
Day 3: MARRAKECH TO FEZ
Travel to Fez via the Middle Atlas mountains- a very scenic trip. Arrive to Fez check into your riad or hotel.
Day 4: FEZ GUIDED TOUR
Start with an exterior driving tour of Fez that takes you to the royal palace decorated entrance and the Jewish quarter both located at Fez El Jadid, then continue to the panoramic view of the medina and finally visit the mosaics and pottery area.
Fez walking tour will take you back in time to explore the secrets of this enchanting city, the capital of medieval Morocco. Fez medina is a large labyrinth of winding alleys. It’s famous for its fascinating architecture in riads, palaces, museums and medersas; but also for its busy souks and ancestral crafts areas.
Traditionally, the exploration of the medina starts at the Bab Boujloud Gate, also known as the Blue Gate. Then one of the mid-14th century medersa, with its cedar woodwork, its sculptured stucco, marble and beautiful calligraphy. Then, stop, at the carpenters’ souk, wood museum and the beautiful famous Nejjarine fountain. Then walk to the ancient sovereign Moulay Idriss shrine and the Karawiyine Mosque (the oldest university in the history of mankind). You will move on further to Seffarine (the brass and copper working area) then the dyers of materials for textiles. Another main attraction is the tanneries.
Day 5: MEKNES AND RABAT
Travel from Fez to Meknes and start by a stop Bab Mansour Gate- ne of Morocco’s most impressive gates, known for its monumental size and intricate tilework.
Then, Stroll through the old medina to discover traditional architecture and visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the resting place of the sultan who made Meknes his imperial capital.
Visit the Royal Stables, which once housed thousands of horses, and the Volubilis ruins nearby, a UNESCO World Heritage site with ancient Roman remnants.
After lunch, continue to Rabat. Then check into your hotel.
Day 6: RABAT
Visit the Kasbah of the Udayas, A historic fortress offering great views of the Atlantic Ocean. Wander through its narrow streets and take in the blue and white architecture.
Then continue to Hassan Tower & Mausoleum of Mohammed V: Explore the unfinished minaret of the Hassan Mosque and the mausoleum, which is the resting place of King Mohammed V and his sons.
Then at the Royal Palace, although not open to the public, you can admire the impressive gates and gardens of the royal residence.
If time allows, visit the ancient Roman ruins and the medieval Islamic necropolis of Chellah.
Day 7: Casablanca
Travel from Rabat to Casablanca and enjoy the stunning Hassan II Mosque- one of the largest mosques in the world, located right by the ocean. The mosque’s grand architecture and intricate tilework are awe-inspiring.
Stroll along corniche at the Casablanca coastline, where you’ll find restaurants, cafes, and views of the Atlantic Ocean.
At the Royal Palace of Casablanca, although not open to the public, you can admire the architecture from outside.
Wander through Habous Quarter- a charming district with its traditional Moroccan shops and French-inspired architecture.
Day 8: TRANSFER TO AIRPORT
