15-DAY MOROCCO TOUR
This 15-day Morocco Grand Tour offers a comprehensive exploration of Morocco’s diverse landscapes, rich history, and vibrant culture. The journey begins in Casablanca, where you’ll visit the iconic King Hassan II Mosque before traveling to Rabat to see historical landmarks like the Hassan Tower and Mausoleum Mohammed V. You’ll continue north to Tangier, enjoying scenic views at Cap Spartel and exploring the lively medina. From there, the tour takes you to the picturesque blue city of Chefchaouen and onward to Volubilis’ Roman ruins and the imperial city of Meknes. In Fez, you’ll explore its medieval medina and famous tanneries. The adventure then heads south to the Sahara Desert, where you’ll experience camel trekking and stay in a desert camp in Merzouga. Next, you’ll visit the stunning Todra Gorge and Dades Valley before exploring Ouarzazate’s film studios and the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou. The journey continues through the High Atlas Mountains to the charming village of Imlil, followed by the coastal city of Essaouira. Finally, you’ll visit the vibrant city of Marrakech, with highlights including the Majorelle Garden and Djemaa el-Fna Square. The tour concludes with a departure from either Marrakech or Casablanca.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO CASABLANCA
You will be greeted by your private English-speaking driver and get briefed about Your Morocco Experience. If you arrive early today, try to get a feel of the largest Moroccan city and the heart of Moroccan business and economy, by visiting the Ain Diab corniche and the medina.
DAY 2: CASABLANCA– RABAT
Visit King Hassan II mosque and set off to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco, and the youngest imperial city. It is quieter than Fez and Marrakech. You will visit its unfinished Hassan Tower, with the remaining of its mosque after 1755 devastating earthquake that hit Portugal and North Africa. Just near, gain access to the Mausoleum Mohammed V before heading to the Kasbah Oudayas. Finally, stop at the Chellah Gardens and Necropolis.
DAY 3: RABAT– TANGIER
On your way to Tangier, stop at Asilah town on the Atlantic coast to explore its charming medina and well preserved 15th century Portuguese fortifications. Try one of the restaurants specializing in see food. Upon arrival to Tangier, you will stop by the Greek legendary Cave of Hercules then continue driving to the Cap Spartel- the meeting point between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean shores, from where you have stunning views of the Gibraltar strait. The medina of Tangier is really worth visiting for its lively atmosphere. Not to forget about the Grand Socco plaza where are located many small and cosy hotels that previously accommodated famous artists and writers like Paul Bowles
DAY 4: TANGIER– CHEFCHAOUEN
Explore the blue city of Chefchaouen. Do not miss the Spanish Mosque for a breath-taking panoramic view of the city.
DAY 5: CHEFCHAOUEN– VOLUBILIS– MEKNES– FEZ
Today, on Your Morocco Experience, you will drive to the smallest and less visited Imperial City of Meknes. Your guide will take you to Bab El Mansour, considered as the biggest gate of all North Africa, then the Royal Stables and Granaries and the tomb of Moulay Ismail. You will drive about half an hour to get to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a fascinating archeological site with the remainings of ancient homes, buildings and olive presses, not to miss the fabulous mosaics still well preserved. Nearby, you can stop at the holy village called Moulay Idriss Zarhoun of Moulay Idriss,before continuing to Fez, Morocco’s spiritual capital.
DAY 6: FEZ
Start with an exterior driving tour of Fez that takes you to the royal palace decorated entrance and the Jewish quarter both located at Fez El Jadid, then continue to the panoramic view of the medina and finally visit the mosaics and pottery area.
Fez walking tour will take you back in time to explore the secrets of this enchanting city, the capital of medieval Morocco. Fez medina is a large labyrinth of winding alleys. It’s famous for its fascinating architecture in riads, palaces, museums and medersas; but also for its busy souks and ancestral crafts areas.
Traditionally, the exploration of the medina starts at the Bab Boujloud Gate, also known as the Blue Gate. Then one of the mid-14th century medersa, with its cedar woodwork, its sculptured stucco, marble and beautiful calligraphy. Then, stop, at the carpenters’ souk, wood museum and the beautiful famous Nejjarine fountain.
Then walk to the ancient sovereign Moulay Idriss shrine and the Karawiyine Mosque (the oldest university in the history of mankind). You will move on further to Seffarine (the brass and copper working area) then the dyers of materials for textiles. Another main attraction is the tanneries.
DAY 7: FEZ– MERZOUGA
Enjoy a long, but beautiful, travel day across the unique landscapes of Morocco to get to the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert. On the way, stop in Ifrane town (Morocco’s Little Switzerland) famous for its European style of architecture and its sky station.
A short drive south from Ifrane, and always within Ifrane National Park-Â takes you to Azrou –Â known for its lush cedar forests. You can stop here for a scenic walk through the woods, where you’ll often spot Barbary apes (monkeys).
In the Heart of the Middle Atlas Midelt is a town located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscapes.
As you drive through the Tafilalt region, you’ll pass the Ziz Valley, known for its dramatic gorges and vast palm oases. The road offers breathtaking views of the green oasis against the backdrop of the Sahara’s sandy dunes.Stop at several viewpoints along the way for stunning panoramic views of the valley, which is lush with palm groves and irrigated fields.
As you drive further, you will get to Erfoud – known for its fossil-rich surroundings. It is also home to several beautiful kasbahs (fortified structures), showcasing traditional Berber architecture.
DAY 8: MERZOUGA
Your final destination, Merzouga, is famous for the Erg Chebbi dunes, the vast, towering sand dunes that are iconic of the Sahara. This is the ultimate place to experience camel trekking, watch sunrises and sunsets, and immerse yourself in the desert environment.
Overnight in a Desert Camp: Spend a night under the stars in a desert camp, enjoying Berber music, traditional food, and an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Sahara.
DAY 9: MERZOUGA- TODRA GORGE- DADES VALLEY
Travel through the Dades Valley, often referred to as the Valley of the Roses, known for its scenic beauty and rose cultivation. Stop in the valley to explore the local villages, walk through lush palm groves, and visit a traditional Berber house. Later, visit the Rose Valley before heading to your hotel in the area for the night.
DAY 10: DADES VALLEY- OUARZAZATE
After breakfast, head towards Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Desert.” Visit the famous Kasbah Taourirt and explore the Atlas Film Studios, known for their use in Hollywood blockbusters. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
DAY 11: OUARZAZATE- AIT BENHADDOU- HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS (IMLIL)
This morning, head to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its dramatic adobe kasbahs. Wander through this ancient fortified village, which has appeared in numerous films. Then, travel to Imlil in the High Atlas Mountains. Take a scenic route through the countryside and traditional Berber villages.Enjoy the changing landscapes as you approach Imlil, a small village that serves as the gateway to Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak.
Arrive in Imlil, nestled in a picturesque valley surrounded by high peaks. Check-in at a traditional Berber guesthouse. Take a leisurely walk around Imlil to experience its charming atmosphere and local culture.
DAY 12: HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS- ESSAOUIRA
Continue the journey towards Essaouira with a lunch stop along the way, perhaps in a charming mountain town, to taste local specialties. Arrive in Essaouira, a coastal gem. Check into your hotel and freshen up. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Essaouira Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Explore the bustling souks, galleries, and artisan shops. Don’t miss the iconic Essaouira Port with its fishing boats and fortified walls.Visit the Essaouira Medina, which is known for its historic Portuguese architecture. Explore its narrow streets, artisan workshops, and Jewish Quarter. Head to the Skala de la Ville, the ancient sea bastion, and admire the views of the Atlantic Ocean and the ramparts.
Visit the Essaouira Citadel and Moulay Hassan Square for more cultural immersion. Spend some time at Essaouira Beach, enjoying water sports like windsurfing or relaxing in the coastal breeze. Visit to the Jewish Cemetery.
DAY 13: ESSAOUIRA- MARRAKECH
Breakfast at your hotel. Then depart from Essaouira to Marrakech. Arrive in Marrakech, check into your hotel, and freshen up. Explore the vibrant Djemaa el-Fna Square and the Koutoubia Mosque. Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of this famous square, with street performers, food stalls, and market vendors.
DAY 14: MARRAKECH
Breakfast at your hotel. Visit the Majorelle Garden, once owned by Yves Saint Laurent, to enjoy the lush botanical garden and vibrant blue colors. Explore the Saadian Tombs, dating back to the 16th century, offering a glimpse into the opulent past of the Saadian dynasty. Visit the El Badi Palace, now in ruins but still a beautiful site to explore. Then, do not miss the Ben Youssef Medersa, a stunning example of Moroccan architecture.
